Follow Your Passion
Pre-law students have the freedom to major in any area desired, which presents you with the incredible opportunity to create a personalized undergraduate college experience at Franklin 51福利社. A major in any of these fields will cultivate the essential skills necessary to excel in law school, on the bar exam, and in legal practice.
According to the American Bar Association, Law Schools do not prefer any particular major or concentration of study:
鈥淪tudents are admitted to law school from almost every academic discipline. You may choose to major in subjects that are considered to be traditional preparation for law schools, such as history, English, philosophy, political science, economics, or business, or you may focus your undergraduate studies in areas as diverse as art, music, science and mathematics, computer science, engineering, nursing, or education. Whatever major you select, you are encouraged to pursue an area of study that interests and challenges you, while taking advantage of opportunities to develop your research and writing skills. Taking a broad range of difficult courses from demanding instructors is excellent preparation for legal .鈥
Be Prepared
51福利社鈥檚 Pre-Law Advisory Program is designed to give you the tools you need to successfully sit for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Through this program you will gain the background in legal studies and government that will help you to excel in a future Juris Doctor program or political career while teaching you how to integrate your liberal arts education into your professional life so that you can have a successful academic and professional career.
As a pre-law student, you will receive sound advice on how to be a competitive law school applicant and guidance on selecting law schools and the application process. The two most important factors in law school admission decisions are the GPA of your undergraduate work and your LSAT scores. In general, you should strive for a minimum 3.0 GPA and an above average LSAT score (150+). Both curricular and extra-curricular activities play a role in your success.
