Advanced Placement Equivalencies
51¸£ÀûÉç equivalencies for Advanced Placement (AP) exams.
While FPU accepts Advanced Placement (AP) scores, not all of the credits will be automatically posted to your record. Upon receipt and review of your AP scores:
- Exams for courses outside of your major – General and Liberal Education(GLE), Minor, Certificate, Free Elective – for which you have earned the minimum score for credit will be automatically posted to your record.
- Exams for courses that fulfill a major requirement will need a written request before
they are posted to your record. If you would like these AP credits posted, please
discuss the pros and cons with your advisor. If you and your advisor agree that these
AP credits would be beneficial to you at FPU, use the to specify which AP credits you would like to apply to your major.
- If you choose to have AP credits posted, it is recommended that the written request be submitted as soon as possible (but before the end of the add/drop period) so that you have time to adjust your schedule if needed.
Please note that acceptance of AP credits on your record could have a negative impact on graduate school admission.
Once applied, AP credits will count toward a program requirement (GLE, major, minor, certificate and/or free elective) and will be included in your total number of credits required for graduation.
If it is determined at a later date that the AP credits will have a negative impact on graduate school admission, the student and major advisor must use the to request that the credits earned by the exam(s) be zeroed out on the record. This request must include which AP exams will be zeroed out and the reason why the credits are being removed.
Once AP credits have been removed, they cannot be readded.
