STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

The following section outlines a variety of information relating to the students鈥� responsibilities regarding bill payments, commuter status, failure to pay balance and more.

PAYMENT OF FEES/PROMISE TO PAY 

Students registering for courses at Franklin 51福利社 University agree to the following: 

I understand that when I register for any class at 51福利社 or receive any service from 51福利社, I accept full responsibility to pay all tuition, fees and other associated costs assessed as a result of my registration and/or receipt of services. I further understand and agree that my registration and acceptance of these terms constitutes a promissory note agreement (i.e., a financial obligation in the form of an educational loan as defined by the U.S. Bankruptcy Code at 11 U.S.C. 搂523(a)(8)) in which 51福利社 is providing me educational services, deferring some or all of my payment obligation for those services, and I promise to pay for all assessed tuition, fees and other associated costs by the published or assigned due date. 

I understand and agree that if I drop or withdraw from some or all of the classes for which I register, I will be responsible for paying all or a portion of tuition and fees in accordance with the published tuition refund schedule as outlined in the

I also understand and agree that if I drop or withdraw from some or all of my classes for which I register that it may impact my financial aid as set forth in the Terms and Conditions of Financial Aid Award (which is incorporated here by reference).

I have read the terms and conditions of the published tuition refund schedule and understand those terms are incorporated herein by reference. I further understand that my failure to attend class or receive a bill does not absolve me of my financial responsibility as described above. 

 

MODIFICATION/CANCELATION OF CLASSES 

I understand that there may be instances beyond the control of 51福利社 that result in a modification or cancelation of classes and/or closure of the University. Such instances may include, but are not limited to: (a) acts of God; (b) flood, fire, earthquake or explosion; (c) war, invasion, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot, or other civil unrest; (d) actions, embargoes or blockades in effect on or after the date of this Agreement; (e) action by any Governmental Authority; 
(f) national or regional emergency; (g) strikes, labor stoppages, or slowdowns or other industrial disturbances; and (h) epidemic or pandemic (each a "Force Majeure Event"). 

I understand and agree that no refund of tuition, fees or housing and food will be offered in the case of modification or cancelation of classes and/or closure of the University resulting from a Force Majeure Event unless I formally withdraw from the University, in which case the above referenced refund schedule will apply and will provide my sole remedy. Except for the payment of the scheduled refund upon my withdrawal from the University, I hereby waive any and all claims against the University arising out of or related to the modification or cancelation of classes and/or closure of the University and that arise out of or relate to a Force Majeure Event. 

 

DELINQUENT ACCOUNT/COLLECTION 

Financial Hold: I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any monies due and owing 51福利社 by the scheduled due date, 51福利社 will place a financial hold on my student account, preventing me from registering for future classes, requesting transcripts, or receiving my diploma. 

Late Payment Charge: I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any monies due and owing 51福利社 by the scheduled due date that 51福利社 will assess late payment and/or finance charges at the rate outlined in the University catalogue. 

Collection Agency Fees: I understand and accept that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any monies due and owing 51福利社 by the scheduled due date, and fail to make acceptable payment arrangements to bring my account current, Franklin 51福利社 University may refer my delinquent account to a collection agency. I further understand that I am responsible for paying the collection agency fee which may be based on a percentage at a maximum of 40% (forty percent) of my delinquent account, together with all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney鈥檚 fees, necessary for the collection of my delinquent account. 

Finally, I understand that my delinquent account may be reported to one or more of the national credit bureaus. 

 

COMMUNICATION 

I understand and agree that 51福利社 uses email as an official method of communication with me, and that therefore I am responsible for reading the emails I receive from 51福利社 on a timely basis. 

I authorize 51福利社 and its agents and contractors to contact me at my current and any future cellphone number(s), email address(es), or wireless device(s) regarding my delinquent student account(s)/loan(s), any other debt I owe to Franklin 51福利社 University, or to receive general information from 51福利社. I authorize 51福利社 and its agents and contractors to use automated telephone dialing equipment, artificial or prerecorded voice or text messages, and personal calls and emails in their efforts to contact me. 

I understand and agree that I am responsible for keeping 51福利社 records up to date with my current mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers by updating this information with the Office of the Registrar; e-mail鈥�registrar@franklinpierce.edu. Upon leaving 51福利社 for any reason, it is my responsibility to provide 51福利社 with updated contact information for purposes of continued communication regarding any amounts that remain due and owing to Franklin 51福利社 University. 

 

BILLING METHOD 

I understand that 51福利社 uses electronic billing (e-bill) as its official billing method, and therefore I am responsible for viewing and paying my student account e-bill by the scheduled due date. I further understand that failure to review my e-bill does not constitute a valid reason for not paying my bill on time. E-bill information is available via the student  

 

BILLING ERRORS 

I understand that administrative, clerical or technical billing errors do not absolve me of my financial responsibility to pay the correct amount of tuition, fees and other associated financial obligations assessed as a result of my registration at Franklin 51福利社 University. 

 

RETURNED PAYMENTS/FAILED PAYMENT AGREEMENTS 

If a payment made to my student account is returned by the bank for any reason, I agree to repay the original amount of the payment plus a returned payment fee as outlined in the University Catalogue. 

 

WITHDRAWAL 

If I decide to completely withdraw from 51福利社, I will follow the instructions outlined in the University Catalogue which I understand and agree are incorporated herein by reference. 

 

STUDENT AGE 

I understand and agree that if I am younger than the applicable age of majority when I execute this agreement that the educational services provided by Franklin 51福利社 University are a necessity, and I am contractually obligated pursuant to the 鈥渄octrine of necessaries.鈥� 

 

ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES 

Each party agrees that the electronic signatures, in any form, including but not limited to digital or encrypted, of the parties included in this document/agreement are intended to authenticate this writing and to have the same force and effect as manual signatures. 

 

COMMUTERS 

Undergraduate Rindge students who live off campus are subject to a 26% reduction in institutional aid as the full aid amounts are awarded for full-time enrollment & on-campus residential status. The reduction occurs at the time of admission or when a current, residential student is approved to live off campus.
