They provide a supportive, confidential space for students to discuss concerns, develop coping strategies, and connect with appropriate campus and community resources when needed. Each Peer Counselor completes 40 hours of initial training and receives ongoing training throughout the academic year while being supervised by the Professional Staff in Student Wellness and Outreach Education, who oversees all peer support interactions. Peer Counselors are usually upperclassmen studying in helping professions.
